My career spans design, journalism, and art.
Before joining IDEO, I worked on projects with teams at ESI Design and Local Projects in New York. I’ve also taught design thinking and design research at NYU, the School of Visual Arts, and elsewhere.
I'm a former correspondent for PRI’s The World and the BBC World Service, telling stories at the intersection of culture, design, and world affairs. I’ve written for TED and others, and also produce an ongoing audio series about global food. I was a finalist for the Livingston Award in international reporting, and a Fellow with the International Reporting Project at Johns Hopkins. A selection of my journalism is archived here.
After graduating in philosophy from Oxford, I trained in classical acting at LAMDA. I've performed Shakespeare at the Old Vic, appeared in sketch comedy at the Edinburgh Festival, and been featured in storytelling shows in New York City. As a composer and sound designer, my credits include productions in London’s West End and across the UK.
